High-Capacity Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Processing
Dunn Bros currently handles around 500,000 tonnes of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal each year. Our main plant at Smethwick, West Midlands, includes a sophisticated high-capacity fragmentising and separation system. The machinery can process 40,000 tonnes of ferrous metal a month.

Shredding
Our shredding equipment is configured to achieve the highest recycling and recovery rates. Advanced shredding technology and a powerful 6,000 hp motor help our Lynxs shredder achieve a higher yield for all metals. The shredder, which is supported by a state-of-the-art Venti Oelde air separation system, recovers high-density steel for delivery to UK and export customers, as well as mixed materials for further separation.
Shearing
A Leimbach 900 ton shear cuts structural scrap to all European and international specifications.
Baling
Our Lindemann baling presses are the most advanced scrap balers on the market. They meet all requirements for efficient scrap processing.
Dense-Media Separation
Our dense-media separation plant processes mixed non-ferrous residues. It separates aluminium from heavy metals, such as copper, brass, zinc, and stainless steel. Processing produces high quality products that meet our customers' specifications and which reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill. To improve the efficiency of metal recovery from mixed shredder waste, we continue to invest in the latest separation technologies.
